World Bank aided Coastal Disaster Risk Reduction Project(CDRRP)
Conversion of HT & LT overhead lines into HT & LT cables in cyclone prone coastal towns (CDRRP)
TANGEDCO has implemented conversion of HT and LT overhead lines into HT and LT underground cables in cyclone prone coastal towns of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Velankanni with revised administrative sanction of Rs.406.83 crore with the funding assistance from World Bank through GoTN.
Three packages ( Two packages (Package-3 & 2) in Cuddalore Town and one package (Package-7) in Velankanni Town (Nagapattinam Dt)) were awarded under total turnkey Contract for Rs.406.83 Cr. to M/s.L&T Ltd.( Cuddalore packages) and M/s Polycab India Ltd. ( Velankanni package).
The 100% contract works were completed for Package -3 on 15.10.2022; Package-7 on 15.09.2022; Package-2 on 31.12.2022
